On July 16, 1909, when Audi was founded, we made it our mission to develop vehicles that stand the test of time. After decades of meticulous automotive engineering and development, Audi Sport® finally began competing in the rally circuit. It was the beginning of a beautiful marriage.
After competing for six years and winning 23 world rally championships, Audi Sport paved the way toward greatness. With our steadfast innovation and creative designs, our vehicles cut a path towards victory, again and again.
As we experienced the ups and downs of the rally circuit, Audi Sport continued developing until finally unveiling our advanced Ur-quattro® all-wheel drive system to the motorsport world. Once it appeared at the Monte Carlo Rally, nothing was the same again.
The winning continued for years to come. And in 2012, the Audi R18 e-tron® quattro became the first hybrid car to take home the trophy from the 24-hours of Le Mans. This tradition continued, as the Audi R18 e-tron quattro won the championship in 2012 and 2014, too.
